KaVo EXPERTmatic E10 C Handpiece Repair: Keeping the Straight Handpiece Straightforward

The KaVo EXPERTmatic E10 C is the only straight handpiece in the EXPERTmatic line-up. It is the one you reach for when a contra-angle simply is not the right shape for the job, and it handles two kinds of burs in one body.

That versatility is exactly why its chuck and release mechanism deserves close attention when something goes wrong

The Only Straight Handpiece in the EXPERTmatic Range

KaVo's official EXPERTmatic page lists the E10 C (Mat. no. 1.007.5560) as a blue 1:1 handpiece with a push-button release for quick bur changes, suitability for both straight and contra-angle burs, and a 1-port spray.

Two Bur Types, One Chuck

Because the E10 C accepts both straight and contra-angle burs, its chuck and release system take on more variety than a single-purpose instrument. Using the correct bur, fully inserted, is the simplest way to protect it. If a correctly inserted bur does not hold, that is a stop signal.

Where Wear Shows Up

Part	What Wear Looks Like	First Check	Typical Outcome
Push-button release	Bur hard to release or insert	Clean and lubricate per KaVo care	Release mechanism service
Chuck	Bur slips or wobbles	Try a new, correct bur	Chuck repair
Drive and bearings	Roughness, noise, heat	Lubricate with KaVo products	Bench evaluation
1-port spray	Thin or no spray	Clean with KaVo nozzle needle	Spray path service
Coupling	Loose fit, leaks	Replace O-ring set	Service if it persists

Symptoms That Call for a Technician

A correctly inserted bur that slips or wobbles
A push button that sticks or will not release the bur
Roughness or heat after correct lubrication
Spray that stays weak after nozzle cleaning

Series Features That Matter for Repair

KaVo describes the EXPERTmatic series as using original ceramic ball bearings, a resistant stainless steel construction, the EXPERTgrip surface, and the KaVo INTRAmatic coupling system, which KaVo says works with any treatment unit. The series carries a 24-month warranty.

Warranty and KaVo REPAIR

A newer E10 C may still be inside KaVo's 24-month EXPERTmatic warranty. Check your purchase date first; if it qualifies, KaVo REPAIR is the natural starting point.

Inside a Repair.Dental E10 C Evaluation

Check the model marking and KaVo part number on the body.
Test push-button release and chuck retention with both bur types.
Run it free and under light load to check sound and heat.
Clear and test the spray port.
Check the coupling fit.
Walk you through findings before any work is approved.

Two bur types. One honest diagnosis.

Send your E10 C to Repair.Dental and know what it needs before you commit.

Matching the Bur to the Job

Having one handpiece that takes both straight and contra-angle burs is convenient, but it also means more bur swaps in a day. Each swap is a moment where a partially inserted or damaged bur can stress the chuck. Train the team to check every bur before it goes in and to push it fully home.

See our Preventive Maintenance Agreement and the RepairGuru library for other straight handpiece guides.
