KaVo INTRA EVA Head L61 G / L61 R Care Guide: Protecting the Stroke and the Snap-In Lock

EVA heads don't spin, so their care routine focuses on two parts: a damped stroke mechanism and, on the L61 R, a 36-position locking system. Both depend on being clean and properly cared for.

Here is a routine based on what KaVo officially lists for these heads.

At a glance (KaVo specifications): Thermo-disinfectable and sterilizable up to 135°C (275°F) · file ejector tool 0410.0634 listed by KaVo US · 2-year warranty.

The 30-Second Brief

Remove files and strips with the ejector tool KaVo lists (0410.0634).

Separate the head from the shank, clean inside and out, then apply KaVo care.

Sterilize at no more than 135°C.

By the Numbers

0.8 mm stroke to keep running smoothly

	36 snap-in positions to keep clean (L61 R)

	135°C maximum sterilization temperature

	2-year KaVo warranty

Start With the Right Removal Tool

KaVo's US page lists a file ejector tool (0410.0634) with both EVA heads. Using it to remove files and strips protects the head from improvised tools
