<h3 style="text-align:justify">Start With the Bur Length</h3>

&nbsp;

KaVo designed the L52 for miniature contra-angle burs with a 16 mm length. A standard-length bur may not suit it. Confirm the bur before suspecting the head.

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Run the Head Swap Test</h2>

&nbsp;

Fit another INTRA head to the same shank and repeat the test. If the issue disappears, the L52 is the cause.

Pro tip: Keep a spare 1:1 head in the operatory on pediatric days so a swap test does not end the appointment.

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Fix a Slipping Miniature Bur</h2>

&nbsp;

Insert a new, correct 16 mm miniature bur fully. If it still slips, stop using the L52.

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Handle a Head That Will Not Attach Smoothly</h2>

&nbsp;

KaVo designed the quick-action safety retention collar for simple changes. If it becomes stiff, clean the connection and try again. Never force it, as that can damage the head or shank.

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Know When to Stop Using It</h2>

&nbsp;

<ul>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Warning sign: A miniature bur that will not stay secure
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Warning sign: Heat at the head
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Warning sign: Roughness that follows the head after a swap
	</li>
</ul>

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Clear Up Common L52 Questions</h2>

&nbsp;

Can I use standard burs in the L52?

KaVo lists it as ideal for miniature contra-angle burs with a 16 mm length.

Why is my L52 rough?

Residue or wear. Lubricate, then do a head swap test.
