KaVo MASTERmatic M07 L Maintenance: One Routine for Restorative and Prophy Days

The KaVo MASTERmatic M07 L may handle caries excavation in the morning and a prophylaxis application in the afternoon. Each leaves a different kind of residue.

This guide builds one consistent routine that handles both.

Why Dual Use Changes Care

KaVo lists the M07 L for caries excavation and prophylaxis. Polishing paste and cutting debris both need to come off before lubrication and sterilization, or they get pushed deeper.

KaVo's Reprocessing Order

KaVo's preparation video covers external and internal cleaning, internal disinfection, manual maintenance and sterilization. Clean first, always: lubricating over residue only pushes it further in.

Heads and Shank

KaVo's flyer lists the M07 L as a shank for INTRA LUX heads, so reprocess every head that was used, and keep the safety retention collar area clean, as described on KaVo's INTRA heads page.

Feels gritty after a prophy day? Have Repair.Dental check it.

Spray and Filter

KaVo's care tips link a dirty filter to reduced spray and warn against descaling agents. Replace the exchangeable filter when spray drops.

Lubrication

Use KaVo Spray or the QUATTROcare PLUS after cleaning.
