KaVo MASTERmatic M29 L Maintenance: Post-Case Care for KaVo's Endo Contra-Angle

Endodontic cases can be long, and the instrument works the whole time. The KaVo MASTERmatic M29 L needs careful reprocessing at the end of every case to stay smooth and dependable.

This guide focuses on what to do once the case is finished.

The End-of-Case Checklist

Remove the instrument from the head.

Start cleaning promptly so debris does not dry.

	Run KaVo's full preparation process.

Lubricate with KaVo Spray or QUATTROcare PLUS.

Sterilize no higher than 135°C (275°F).

KaVo's Preparation Stages

KaVo's MASTERmatic page points to its preparation video: external and internal cleaning, internal disinfection, manual maintenance and sterilization. KaVo lists the series as thermo-disinfectable.

Heads and Shank

Since KaVo's flyer describes the M29 L as a shank for INTRA LUX heads, every head used during the case needs full reprocessing too.

Rotation not as smooth after a long case? Let Repair.Dental check it before the next endo appointment.

Lubrication and Cooling

Use KaVo Spray or the QUATTROcare PLUS. KaVo's care tips warn against descaling agents and root canal needles for clearing spray channels; use dedicated nozzle needles instead.

Mistakes After Endo Cases

Leaving the instrument to sit before cleaning.

Skipping lubrication after a long case.

Clearing spray channels with a root canal needle.

	Forgetting to reprocess spare heads.

	Exceeding 135°C.

M29 L Care FAQs

Why use a nozzle needle instead of a root canal needle?

KaVo's care tips warn that root canal needles can damage spray channels.

Is the M29 L thermo-disinfectable?

Yes, according to KaVo.
