<h2 style="text-align:justify">Caring for an NSK FX70m
&nbsp;</h2>

A well-maintained NSK FX70m endodontic handpiece is easier to keep in dependable clinical condition. Consistent cleaning, lubrication, reprocessing, inspection, and careful handling can help reduce avoidable wear and unexpected downtime. For additional maintenance guidance, see the <a href="https://repair.dental/repairguru/handpieces/nsk-fx-series-maintenance-guide">NSK FX Series Maintenance Guide</a>. Always follow the current NSK instructions for the specific handpiece and the products and equipment used in your practice.

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Clean Promptly
&nbsp;</h2>

Follow NSK&#39;s current cleaning instructions after each clinical use.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Lubricate Using the Correct Method
&nbsp;</h2>

Use the recommended NSK lubricant and application procedure.&nbsp;The goal is correct lubrication&mdash;not simply adding as much lubricant as possible.
&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align:justify">Sterilize According to Manufacturer Instructions
&nbsp;</h3>

Use NSK&#39;s current approved reprocessing procedure.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Inspect Before Returning to Service
&nbsp;</h2>

Check the FX70m for visible damage and unusual operation.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Know the Early Warning Signs
&nbsp;</h2>

Regular users quickly become familiar with the normal sound and feel of their handpiece.&nbsp;Pay attention when the FX70m begins to behave differently.
&nbsp;

Early warning signs may include:
&nbsp;

<ul>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	New or increased noise
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Increased vibration
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Rough operation
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Unusual heat
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Reduced or inconsistent performance
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Working-mechanism changes
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Recurring mechanical problems
	&nbsp;
	</li>
</ul>

A change in sound or vibration can be more useful than waiting for a complete breakdown.
&nbsp;

If a problem persists after normal maintenance, avoid repeatedly experimenting with different lubricants or procedures. Professional inspection may be needed to determine whether an internal mechanical problem is developing. <h2>Common FX70m Maintenance Mistakes to Avoid
&nbsp;</h2>

Even routine maintenance can become less effective when performed incorrectly.
&nbsp;

Avoid:
&nbsp;

<ol>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Delaying cleaning after use
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Using an unapproved lubricant
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Over-lubricating the handpiece
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Ignoring visible contamination
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Skipping inspection before use
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Using an unsuitable sterilization or reprocessing procedure
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Dropping or roughly handling the handpiece
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Continuing to use a handpiece with significant abnormal heat or vibration
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Assuming lubrication will fix an underlying mechanical problem
	&nbsp;
	</li>
</ol>

Following the manufacturer&#39;s current instructions is more reliable than developing an improvised maintenance routine.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">When Preventive Maintenance Is No Longer Enough
&nbsp;</h2>

Maintenance is intended to help keep the FX70m in good working condition. It is not a substitute for professional repair when a mechanical fault develops.
&nbsp;

Arrange professional inspection if you notice:
&nbsp;

<ul>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Persistent unusual noise
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Increasing vibration
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Abnormal heat
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Rough or irregular operation
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Repeated performance problems
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Mechanical looseness
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	Problems following an impact
	</li>
	<li style="text-align:justify">
	A fault that continues despite proper maintenance
	&nbsp;
	</li>
</ul>

Early professional evaluation can help identify worn or damaged components before the problem causes greater downtime.

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Preventive Maintenance Saves Downtime
&nbsp;</h2>

If the handpiece develops a persistent abnormality, professional service is safer than continued experimentation.
