DENTALEZ's instructions are direct: if your delivery unit has oil/mist lubrication, detach and drain it before installing the Prophy Star 3 SW the handpiece is LubeFree and doesn't use it. This is the same principle as the Titan low-speed motor it shares its design lineage with.

Daily Care

Confirm the prophy angle seats fully before each use this single habit prevents the most commonly documented complaint on this handpiece.
Wipe down the handpiece body and grip between patients as part of standard surface disinfection.
Since it's LubeFree, there's no daily lubrication step don't add one, since DENTALEZ's other Star products explicitly warn against introducing lubricant to LubeFree equipment.

Between Patients: Cleaning and Sterilization

Grip removal: with your thumb at the rear of the grip, push down and forward to release it for cleaning or swapping.

Verify air pressure with a 4/6-line gauge mounted between the back end of the handpiece and the air supply, adjusting until it reads 35–40 psi with the foot control depressed.
If no gauge is available, DENTALEZ's manual specifies allowing 1 psi of pressure loss for every foot of tubing when setting pressure at the delivery head.

Storage Between Uses
