<h2 style="text-align:justify">W&amp;H Alegra WE-57 T Maintenance: A Practical Clinic Routine
&nbsp;</h2>

Good handpiece maintenance is less about performing one big cleaning session and more about catching small problems before they become disruptive. For the W&amp;H Alegra WE-57 T, a simple routine can help staff notice changes in bur retention, sound, rotation, cleanliness, and overall handling.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Build the Check Around Three Questions
&nbsp;</h2>

Instead of asking only, &ldquo;Was it cleaned?&rdquo;, staff can ask:
&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align:justify">1. Is it clean?
&nbsp;</h3>

Look for visible contamination and follow the appropriate cleaning and processing procedure for the handpiece.
&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align:justify">2. Does it feel normal?</h3>

Changes in rotation, sound, vibration, or bur retention should not be dismissed simply because the outside looks clean.
&nbsp;

<h3 style="text-align:justify">3. Is anything different from the last use?</h3>

A change from the handpiece&#39;s normal behavior is often more useful than a generic checklist.

<h2 style="text-align:justify">The Daily Check: Before the Next Patient
&nbsp;</h2>

Before returning the WE-57 T to service, take a few seconds to check:
&nbsp;

<table align="center">
	<tbody>
		<tr>
			<th style="text-align: justify;">
			Check
			</th>
			<th style="text-align: justify;">
			What staff should notice
			</th>
		</tr>
		<tr>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Exterior
			</td>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			No obvious contamination or damage
			</td>
		</tr>
		<tr>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Bur area
			</td>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Bur fits correctly and retention feels normal
			</td>
		</tr>

			<td style="text-align:justify">

			<td style="text-align:justify">
			No obvious unusual resistance or movement
			</td>
		</tr>
		<tr>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Sound

			<td style="text-align:justify">
			No newly developed rough, grinding, or irregular sound

		<tr>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Handling
			</td>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			No new vibration or unusual heat
			</td>
		</tr>
	</tbody>
</table>

The purpose is not to diagnose an internal failure at chairside. The purpose is to spot a change early.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Don&#39;t Let a Familiar Handpiece Fool You
&nbsp;</h2>

A frequently used handpiece can become so familiar that gradual changes are overlooked. A small increase in noise may become normal to the operator. Slight vibration may be blamed on the bur. A recurring temperature change may be ignored because the handpiece still works. This is where routine comparison helps. If something feels different from the handpiece&#39;s usual performance, record it and investigate rather than waiting for a complete failure.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Maintenance Habits That Can Cause Trouble</h2>

&nbsp;

<table align="center">
	<tbody>
		<tr>
			<th style="text-align: justify;">
			Habit
			</th>
			<th style="text-align: justify;">
			Why it is a problem

			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Ignoring small changes
			</td>
			<td style="text-align:justify">
			Minor symptoms can become recurring failures

			<td style="text-align:justify">

			<td style="text-align:justify">

&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Give the Handpiece a &ldquo;Hold&rdquo; Status
&nbsp;</h2>

One useful clinic habit is to create a simple hold-for-inspection process. If staff notice unusual vibration, sound, heat, or bur retention, the handpiece should not simply be placed back with the fully serviced units. Mark it for inspection and record the symptom. This prevents the same questionable handpiece from being picked up by another clinician without anyone knowing what happened.

<h2 style="text-align:justify">&nbsp;</h2>

<h2 style="text-align:justify">When Maintenance Is No Longer Enough
&nbsp;</h2>

Maintenance is designed to keep equipment in good working condition. It should not be used to repeatedly postpone professional repair when a symptom continues. If the WE-57 T continues to develop the same problem after appropriate care, compare the symptom with the <a href="https://repair.dental/repairguru/handpieces/wh-alegra-contra-angle-troubleshooting-guide">W&amp;H Alegra Contra-Angle Troubleshooting Guide</a> and consider professional assessment.

For a recurring mechanical or performance problem, you can request service through <a href="https://www.repair.dental/services/handpiece-repair/w-and-h-dental-handpiece-repair">Repair.Dental&#39;s W&amp;H Handpiece Repair Service</a> rather than continuing to put the handpiece back into clinical rotation.
&nbsp;

<h2 style="text-align:justify">Make One Rule Easy for Everyone
&nbsp;</h2>

A useful clinic rule is:
&nbsp;

If the WE-57 T feels different, report the difference before the next use.&nbsp;That single habit can make maintenance more effective because it turns routine cleaning into an ongoing condition check. If you need to discuss a WE-57 T maintenance concern or a recurring problem with the repair team, use <a href="https://repair.dental/contact">Repair.Dental&#39;s contact page</a> to reach them through the available contact options.
